What a beautiful morning this was in Historic Charleston!
Some back story, while working for my last “9-5” as a salon coordinator, I had the pleasure of getting to know Teresa, her daughter (Leslie), and Leslie’s would be husband, Elijah. Each of them were always such a treat to talk to when they would come in for their appointments. I was so thrilled when Teresa reached out to me to book their family’s session. Not only did I now get to catch up with their lives over the past 3 years, but I also got to meet the newest member of their family.
The day of their session, I arrived about half an hour before their session to enjoy the quiet before sunrise and to acclimate my gear. Fun fact: With the humidity that is typical Charleston summers, it’s crucial to have that time to literally warm up everything before shooting. When my clients arrived, let me just tell you, the smile on my face seeing them in their coordinating Lilly Pulitzer was big, big, and my baby loving heart could have exploded at their little Miss’ cuteness. We did some wandering around Waterfront Park taking in the park’s iconic Pineapple fountain, shady trees, and view of the Arthur Ravenel Bridge over the harbor. From there, we walked over the cobblestones to Rainbow Row to include their wonderful colors and charming architecture, wrapping up just in time for brunch.
Besides watching the sun come up, the quiet, and the cooler weather, brunch is definitely one of my favorite reasons to book sessions for sunrise!
